Really walkin'

The past few days Joshua has really taken off in his walking. Here's a longer video displaying his walking prowess.

Dusting is definitely Josh's favorite household chore. I think it has to do with the fuzziness of the duster - reminds him of other things he loves like stuffed animals, dogs, and fuzzy blankets! Least favorite chore = Vacuuming (hands down!)

Van's sewing project

Dan's big catch

Joshua's brutal strength

BONUS PIC - A fun day at the park (or proof Joshua isn't always smiling!)

We did all have fun, Josh just didn't want to be contained from his exploring at that moment.

Movies for Grandmas

I try to keep our videos short because I know not everyone is as enthralled with our boy as we are...feel free to enjoy, but these are mostly for the benefit of the grandmas who are going through Joshua withdrawal since it's been over a month since either has seen him!

Overtired and giddy in the car

Fun with whipped cream

I'm not sure if he actually took a step without holding onto something here, or if he gets the rocking chair and you just can't see it on the camera. We'll have to keep trying to capture some steps. I think he's going to really take off this week!

SO BIG!

Becoming a kid

We can really tell that Joshua is growing up lately. He's learning all kinds of new tricks and it seems like his face and body are transforming from "baby" to "kid". I think it would be hard to see him growing up so much if there weren't another little baby on the way. But since there is, it's almost a relief to think we'll have a toddler and a baby, rather than two babies! I've had some interesting interactions lately with seasoned moms who had their kids close together like us...in general people have been really excited for us and talked about how nice it is to have your kids close together, but that seems to be those with kids more like 2-3 years apart...these two moms have their kids less than 2 years apart and said, "It's really hard" and "You'll be glad...someday!". YIKES! But, this is what God has for us and we're excited, so we'll just be trusting that His grace is sufficient and His power is made perfect in weakness. I'm trying to look on the bright side and think of the benefits, like that Josh still naps twice a day (more chance of both sleeping at the same time and me sneaking in a nap too) and that in the future they'll be more interested in the same activities since they won't be so developmentally different, etc. We have been busy beginning to make preparations for our little girl..we now have a crib, fun surf girl bedding, and a double jogging stroller...there are still some essentials to take care of...no names or second car seat yet, but we still have a few months.

24 weeks and counting!

Josh has learned a lot of new tricks lately. He's been standing up and cruising around the furniture for a few months now, but took his first steps last week. He hasn't walked too much since then, still prefering the speed of crawling or the stability of cruising, but I have a feeling he may get the hang of it this week! Now that he's able to get where he wants to go, he's more focused on babbling, clapping, and being "so big"! Lots of SO BIG moments in the high chair.

Wearing an outfit that was Daniel's - can you tell he's a child of the 70's
This was so cute. He sat at the sliding glass door and watch Daniel mow the entire back yard!

Whipped Cream Obsessions

We went to visit my family in August and of course Joshua got introduced to many new foods since they are "foodies". He's eating a lot better now, as long as it's finger foods and he can be in control...no more baby foods for him. He loves things with a lot of flavor and spice, especially Chinese, Mexican, and whipped cream! (Things that are slimy, like whipped cream or bananas, make him giggle...so cute!)

His BIG baby blues get complimented all the time!

We take a lot of baths these days. It's easier to wash off all the food from dinner than try to use a washcloth. Joshua loves to splash, stand up (much to my dismay), and pull the plug to let the water out.
