Brielle's Birthday Party

Still playing catch up, but not as far back as it appears since Brielle's birthday party was actually about 6 weeks after her birthday!  We are still trying to figure out how to negotiate birthdays for our Christmas baby so it doesn't get lost in the shuffle.  This year, since she didn't know any better, we celebrated on Christmas Day with family and then later with friends.  In the future, we're thinking about trying to celebrate it early...that way it won't be lost in the Christmas bustle or during the post-Christmas exhaustion period.  We'll see how it evolves though...


We got to celebrate our precious girl with some good friends in early February.  It was also a good excuse to break in the new deck that Dan and my dad had built that week.

THE CAKE

For the cake I baked cupcakes in ice cream cones and topped them with Cool Whip and sprinkles...easy decorating and turned out pretty cute. 

Of course, as expected, Josh sang "Happy Birthday, dear Joshy".  Brielle pretty much acted like it was any other day and was her usual easy-going self.  No exciting cake mess or dramatic tears...she just rolls with the punches...

...then let us know she'd had enough.
