Easter, etc

Joshua's First Easter

I'm not sure where to start...it's been so long since I've posted and so much has happened, but if I try to recount it all, it's too much to think about, so hopefully I'll start posting more often and then it won't take such an effort.

Waiting until the last minute to get ready for church

Life seems to be finding a new, baby-filled rhythm. We're still in awe of the blessing and responsibility of being parents, but are feeling "normal" again and enjoying every day. Joshua is 5 months old and at a really fun stage. He's very smiley, has these deep belly laughs and high pitched squeals, is rolling over onto his tummy all the time, and can sit up by himself if we help him get in position.

Just a smiley morning

Tummy Time

Yikes...I'm sittin' up, now what?

The weather has been great, so we've been taking a lot of walks. I've started running a little bit again too with the jogging stroller (thanks, Mom & Dad!). It's reminded me again how much exercise helps my emotional health! Dan purchased a new surfboard last week and has been anxious to try it out. So far, flat waves and cold water have stood in his way, but I think he'll be out there most days this week. Joshua hasn't felt the ocean yet, but I have a feeling it won't be too long now. Since we want him to like it though, we should probably wait until the water is a little warmer. I think it's around 60 degrees right now.

We haven't started food yet, probably next month, but I have been letting him try to drink water out of a sippy cup. Pretty funny and messy...

Joshua went on his first of many major road trips a few weeks ago to New Orleans. It was 9 hours in the car. We broke it up over a few days, but he did great in the car! I had to go to New Orleans for a work conference and Dan came along to watch Josh during the day. We enjoyed some great Creole and Cajun food while we were there...not too much time for sightseeing though and I don't think we took a single picture!!!

And one final cute one to end this post!
